Re-Imagining Denim: 3D Printing Jeans

My solution is based on the edie.com article Sustainability megatrends: technological innovations for the earth by Celine Herweijer.

According to the World Bank, about 1,800 gallons of water are needed to produce a single pair of jeans. I chose 3D printing the production process of Jeans, because it will reduce water waste and the pollution of the same that happens when the water (infused with chemicals) is disposed into bodies of fresh water nearby the factories. Furthermore, it will also help reduce textile waste by replacing natural materials with printed ones.

The overall vision of my brand is to use 3D printing as a catalyst for sustainability change within the industry. It will provide online trainings to brands that will bring awareness but also provide them with a step-by-step plan on how to transition their entire production process from traditional one to 3D printing. This training would take into consideration how to re-locate the staff tht would be replaced by machinery so they remain employed by the company.
